INTRODUCTION ON THE GR20 IN CORSICA

The GR20 in Corsica, the legendary hiking trail across the Corsican mountains is about 200km long, and probably one of the most demanding trails in Europe (although any hiker in good physical condition can do it).
It can be especially dangerous during bad weather conditions such as rainstorms or snowfall, etc.

So the best time to go is between June and September, when the climate on the island is at its mildest.
If you are an experienced hiker, it will take you about two weeks to do the entire trail (nonetheless about 7 hours of walking per day).

The classical route is from the north to the south, from Calenzana to Conca, and it is divided into two main stages: the first from Calenzana to Vizzavona, the second from Vizzavona to Conca.

However, for less experienced hikers there are easier stages such as Mare E Monti and the Mare a Mare both of which are less difficult hikes.
