Crimson rocky ledges, crystal clear water, small, white beaches : at the northern end of the Scandola Nature Reserve lies the delightful Marina d’Elbo beach.

From the top of the solitary Genovese watchtower you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the sea and of the maquis-covered landscape.

But again, it is not an easy place to get to.

Theoretically you can walk there from Girolata, but the path is strenuous and dangerous, and in summer, the hinterland gets very hot.

By boat, on the other hand, it is almost too easy : this spot is so popular that in summer it is often overcrowded.
