Saleccia Beach
Saleccia beach one of the wildest beaches of Corsica
Hard to imagine that this is where scenes for the film “The Longest Day” were shot in 1962...
Saleccia does not resemble a battlefield at all, quite the opposite.
It may be a bit less perfect than the beach of Loto, but this one-kilometre long beach is more natural.
Its dunes and marvellous Aleppo pines (shade!) are under the protection of the Coastal Conservatory and make it appear all the more natural and unspoilt.
There are also fewer tourists than elsewhere : boats from St-Florent only come here during high season, and often the last stretch from Loto to Saleccia has to be done on foot (1 – 2 hrs)...
