Location : between Galéria (north) and Porto (south)
Scandola is the pearl of Corsica. Created in 1975, this nature
preservation park protects 900 earthly hectares and 1000 marine
hectares. Its volcanic origin work of water and wind have caved
breathtaking, between steep cliffs, red rocky formations and
totally virgin creeks. The coastal is almost inaccessible by
foot. Only 3 km inland, the mountains already reach 1000m high.
The best solution is by boat ( trips from Calvi, Galeria and
Porto ).But the place can get very crowded in summer and regulations
are strict : regulated, between limited speed, diving and fishing
forbidden.
Not easy to reach may be but worthwhile : the sea abounds with
fishes and you can even expect to spot some dolphins a short
distance from the beach.
