Location : 15km north-east from Saint Florent
Difficult to imagine that this place was used to scenery for
the shooting fo « the longest day » in 1962.
Saleccia does not look like a battlefield, on the contrary.
Maybe not as perfect Loto, this long beach ( 1km) gives off more
natural. Protected by the coastal academy, dunes and admirable
pins from Alep ( oh shade !) come and reenforce this feeling.
All the more since the tourists are less numerous there than
anywhere other : the boats coming from Saint Florent only come
in high season, and you often have to come by foot ( about 1-2
hours ) between Loto and Saleccia.
As for the path that links the road Ile Rousse/Saint Florent
to Saleccia (12km), its is broken up, so not recommended to the
cars. But ideal for a walk or a ride by VTT.
