35 km north of Porto
Probably the most « postcard » lanscape of the island.

Deep red Rocky spurs, translucent waters, small clear beach…at
the north extremity of Scandola reserve, the Elbo « marina » is
a heavenly place. From the solitary-standing genoese tower, enjoy
a spectacular view over this panorama and on the ocean of maquis
that surronds it.
But here again, these are places that demand a little effort. The
access by foot from Girolata, is theorically possible, but difficult
and hazardous.
In summer, the hinterland is very hot. By boat,
it is almost the contrary : the sight is so famous that it is often
very crowded during summer.
