Location
: Hinterland from Calvi to Ile Rousse
Corsica is in this way made that only at a few kilometers
as the crow flies from the beaches of Calvi, small ski
stations are there for the enthusiasts. And, from the coastal,
that is not rare, even in summer to see snowded tops.
Very fastly, behind Calvi or Ile Rousse, hills and mountains
follow one another, with the highest tops of the island
in backdrop : that is Balagne strictly said.
A
region blessed by Gods, where villages, proudly hidden
to the mountain show a dreamt place of view on the coastal.
That is the case, among other things, for Corbara, Pigna,
San Antonino, Montemaggiore, Belgodere,ect…Aboundance
of splendid sitesmakes you stay at leat a half-day, even
one whole day. In the evening, difficult to resist in the
temptal inn-farms of the region and in their plates with
pork meats…
Or, to have an idea of High corsican mountain, that
is worth while to make a detour by the geographic circus
of Bonifato, 15km in south of calvi’s airport.
The road that gets in quikly leaves the plain for an
atmosphere of reddish rocks and scattered pins. The
wood of Bonifato, point of begining of many hikkings,
offers an unhopped freshness in summer.
To note that, the geographic circus of Bonifato is
too the first round of the famous GR20, that begins
in Calenzana ( 12kms south of Calvi ). 175 kms through
the most beautiful moutainous landscapes of the island.
To advise to the trained hikkers.
